Another Tach and EVIC issue
 

I’ve seen a few threads with EVIC issues. I’ve searched and searched on here as well as the internets, and have found some similar issues, but not exactly the same. Tried some of the “resets” I’ve found, and still haven’t been able to fix the issue.

1) When I turn the truck off, the tach stays at the idle range. When I turn the key back over to accessory, the tach drops down to zero, but stutters to the down position. The EVIC also slowly dims away.
2) Also, when I turn it back over to accessory, fuel gauge cycles as well from where the fuel level is currently down to empty and back up to the current level. It also stutters when it drops down to the empty mark.
3) My “average fuel economy” shows whatever it shows at the time after driving, when I turn it off. We’ll say 16.5 for instance. Then when I turn the truck off and back over to accessory it resets to 14.3 or 14.4.
4) My light selector on the left side of the dash doesn’t have any lights illuminated on it when I turn the lights on, but all the other lights that are supposed to illuminate (HVAC, windows, lock, 4wd selector, etc) all light up.

Does anyone have a FREAKING clue?! I’m about to lose my mind trying to figure this part out as I’m working on saving for other minor repairs. (One of the air bags has a hole in it, heater core, need a new tune for the turbo, etc)

I had that happen 2 times on my 2006 ram and both times it needed a new instrument cluster circuit board, very pricey 1300.00 $ Canadian. I don’t know if 2013s have flaky tachs but 2006s did.
