We're on our 4th Cummins powered truck, (previously a 1995 Ram 2500 4wd 5 speed, then a 2001 Ram 3500 2wd 5 speed, currently a 2003 Ram 2500 4wd automatic and now the 2015 4wd automatic as well). The previous owner of the 2015 installed an Airlift 5000 kit on the rear (bags say "5813"), but there is no remote to control the compressor or bag pressure. One of the elbows was broken off, so the driver's side airbag would not inflate. On start-up, the compressor would run for about a minute and would ultimately "time out" I guess, and shut off. I replaced the broken fitting and the system still runs every time on start up, just like before, but both bags now have some air pressure in them. Since there is no in-cab gauge or switch, I can only assume it was run off of a remote. The bags are not independent of each other, so it would be the basic system with only one pressure setting for both bags at the same time.
Can this be controlled via a cell phone app or do I need to purchase a replacement remote control? If so, which one? For the time being, I have removed the fuse for the air compressor, until I get things sorted out.
At the dealership, one owner with 171k miles. The Rockstars and used up Nittos have to go. Much better, 2024 take-offs with 500 miles. Lone Star Package, ready for business.
