Aftermarket Speakers

Hey Gents,
Was wondering if anyone knew the size and location of the standard/factory speakers installed in the 2010 CTD 2500 Crew Cab. I have the standard factory radio (no nav or anything fancy) and am looking to upgrade it all, but am unsure about the size of the speakers in the stock truck. I figured there should be a speaker in each door and possibly one/two in the dash.

Also, while I am on the subject, I was curious if anyone had any expertise in this particular area and could make any recommendations as to what I should upgrade with. If not, no big deal.

Thanks in advance

Go to crutchfield and fill in your truck information. It will tell you what size and location as well as what will fit.

all four doors use 6x9 speakers.I've been looking at replacement speakers also. if you use 1/4 speaker spacers , you need 3&1/4'' max mag size and you can go as deep as 3&1/8 deep with the spacers. also you will have 1/2 '' space between the door panel and the speaker when installed get speakers with the smaller size magnets, polk, infinity, rockford fosgate, kenwood, and hertz make speakers that will work. one of the best sounding speakers I have found are the kenwood excelon's in the 6x8 size. or the rockford fosgates in the 6x9's. good luck and let me know what you get.

Thanks for the info. Haven't gotten anything yet as Afghanistan doesn't have a very good speaker store, but I am going to look a little harder when I get home. Yall be good.

I was impressed that we got 6 by 9 speakers in the doors. Have to watch the depth of the magnet, as the window stuff gets in the way. I was going to put in a set of 3 1/2in polks into my dash corners. I still haven't taken my interior apart yet.

For your rear sub needs, I saw a few boxes duals 10in or 12in available that fit the 10 trucks, I think its the same box as the 3rd gens. Most use shallow sub design.

Pavedragon, hopefully you get home soon.
