Can anyone tell me how many RPM a 2014 truck with 3.73 diff will turn with the Aisin tranny. Even if a could find a chart....I'll do the math if it's needed.

Also has anyone towed 15000 lb 5th with this set up? Do you think 3.73 makes sense or do you think a person should opt for 3.42.

 

If you do much towing, it is my opinion that the 3.73 is preferred. I tow a lot (up to 10,000#) with a 3.73 and feel it is a good compromise between performance when towing and fuel economy when empty. I have little doubt that the 3.73 would be fine at 15,000# although some folks would opt for the 4.10 if heavy towing in hilly country.

 

I forgot to answer your first question. If I remember correctly, you should be quite close to 2000 rpm at 70 mph.

 

Thanks for that.....about the same as my 96 5 speed manual with 3.56....I liked the performance of that truck.

 

I believe aisin and 68rfe are same in that aspect and with a 3.73 gear I run right @1750-1800.
