2017 delete seat-belt warning siren

I did search, but if this has been discussed, I'm not finding it.

If your only comment is that I shouldn't do it, please do not participate in the thread. I don't need a nanny, and if you can't envision reasons why you would be in a moving vehicle and not wearing a seat belt, I suggest you get out of the city more often. I always wear my seat belt during what you'd consider normal driving.

In every other vehicle, I've been able to remove a mechanical buzzer or find some factory-provided procedure to delete the audible warnings, but this 2017 is just too computerized and I don't see anything on searches yet for how to do it.

And they made it ESPECIALLY annoying this time. You only need to be barely rolling, and it never times out but keeps coming back and back.

The wife's car does this too, the best way around it we have found is to plug in the seat belt, pull the 'sash' (chest) part over the headrest and behind the seat, leaving the 'lap' section running across the back of the lower seat cushion. This is not uncomfortable to sit on as it tends to run in the join of the two seat cushions.

Only done on private property of course.

Mac,

Looks like we may be in the same general area (Vegas by any chance?). I have the AutoEnginuity Scan Tool that I bought to do some troubleshooting on my truck. I know quite a bit has changed since 2010, but I've been able to turn on and off multiple items on my truck with it, to include the seatbelt warning. If you want to meet up sometime to hook it up to see what all can be accessed, let me know.

I agree every truck should have a "dirt road "switch for the seat belt warning.

Mac702: Another possible solution is go to the junk yard and buy seat belt and cut the end off and latch it in.

Easier than all the above.
Get in truck and latch seat belt.
Turn on key (do not start) and wait for seat belt warning to turn off
Within 60 seconds of turning switch on unlatch/latch seat belt 3 times within 10 seconds.
Leave latched 3rd time
Turn off key. You should hear 1 chime.
Viola, no seat belt chime. I just did my 2018 and it still works.
It can be turned back on the same way
Remember the warning light will still function.

Hope this helps

What this guy said! (For keyless, just push button without foot on the brake to turn on without starting)
