2017 Computer problems
 

I have a 2017 Dodge dually. 3 times in 3 years my trucks computer has went crazy. The warning lights all come on including check engine, service anti lock brakes, brake, service air bag system. The transmission jerks and does not shift correctly. Will not shift into overdrive. The signal lights will not work. Cruise control will not work. Digital speedometer won't work. The first time the problem fixed itself a few miles down the road. The second I unhooked the batteries and that seemed to fix it. The last time we were in Nevada when it happened and it would partially go away after a while. I took it to Dodge dealer in Lake Havasu. He had it for 2 days, checked all grounds and finally all lights went out. Got a few miles away, touched the brakes and every light came back on, a few miles farther I hit a bump and the speedometer and other parts started working again. The next morning when starting out, all lights came on again. Remembering the bump, I smacked the dash above the radio and part of the lights went out , the digital speedometer started working. Everything was working but still had check engine, anti lock brakes, brake, and service air bag system lights still on. The next morning all lights were out and we drove over 1800 miles home without a problem. Every time it has happened I have been in a very low humidity area, just throwing that in as a possible cause. Took it back to my dealer this morning. He doubts finding the problem because everything is normal now. Thanks for any help or ideas.

Check the wiring harness connections where it passes through the firewall.

Also....check the wiring harness connections behind the L/F wheel....near the wheel well liner.

Seems as if a few pins are not seated all the way or may have some corrosion on them.

These were checked initially by the mechanic I believe but will make sure I check them myself. Thank you for the help!

When my Jeep did the sanme thing it was a defective wheel sensor on the breaking system. Happened twice and both time they replaced a rear wheel sensor and all was well again. Might be your issue???????
