2015 2500 Coil vs. 3500 leafs and any other information

Looking at 2 trucks. Both are Laramie Megacabs. There is about $4500 difference in price, the 3500 is loaded a bit more with the gooseneck & 5th wheel option, bedliner and more $$. The price is not a deciding factor.

I know the 3500 has the AISIN transmission.

Obviously I could imagine the 2500 coil rear rides much better, but how much better?

85% is DD. 15% camper with a boat. 5% camper with the enclosed.

I haul a Lance slide in camper that is max of #5000 fully loaded and also a 24' 10,400 GVWR bumper pull enclosed trailer. Boat is a 20' Sea Ray with dual axles, so really not that heavy.

Thoughts and experience is appreciated. Thank you!

Might want to have a look at this thread...Yeh I know it's not coils but its NOT leafs. The 5000lbs will put you over the 12,300lb GVWR of even the 3500SRW crew cab long box 4X4.

2500 vrs 3500 ride

I can tell you that both trucks have a tire presure monitoring system on them. The rear tires must have between 75-80 PSI at all times. The difference is the air ride in the 2500. Even with the tires at 80 PSI the 2500 still rides like a car. The 3500 bounces around like the gen 2 trucks do on the freeway. Also the air bag rear has auto leveling so no matter what your towing the truck stays level and rides like a dream.

hope this information helps.

Thank you for the response. I ended up buying the 3500. Also I read that the 3500 has the tire pressure monitoring system but does not ding at you if you're below the recommended pressure.

I only currently running it at 60 psi. The ride is awesome.
