Selling 2004.5 and buying new so a ?

In the process of selling our 2004.5 3500 4x4 SRW 6-speed and have found 2 different very possible trucks of what I want that being a 2018 Ram 2500 Mega cab, the dealer shows a discount of $9k and a $2,750 in rebates that I would quality for one is in transit and one is on the lot, just put my truck on CL and I do have the means for a down of $20 k without selling yet but always feel more comfortable knowing it is sold. So my question is since the "In-Transit" truck fits my criteria better what should i try and negotiate off of it and put a deposit down or do you think $9k plus rebates is good? Just not sure how much negotiation can be done without a truck sitting there.

Thanks,

Here is what I am selling, gonna be tough seeing it go after 14 years but need change and a AUTO!

I've had good luck and saved $$ at Dave Smith Motors, even after flying up there from Sac. They pick you up from the airport and take you to a dealership like none other you have ever seen. They only have about 500 employees, many buildings, and twenty something parking lots throughout the town of Kellogg, ID. Anyway, they do have a Mega Cab and it might be worth an online chat and phone call. I don't work for them nor do I get anything for the recommendation.

Oh, and as with any Brand Spanking New vehicle you buy from anywhere but in Kalifornia, you will have to get it smogged before you will get a plate.
Back to morning brew . . .

Thanks FMB, I have sent two co-workers to Dave Smith in years past and in fact have two trucks up there I am interested in that being they do have a couple 3500's up there in a MC with the Aisin and also the bucket seat option with full console which I like just wish they had the 20" wheel option but that being said I do plan on finding out the price off MSRP compared to the dealer down here that has pretty much what I want coming in. Would be nice to replace my SRW 3500 with another and the better Aisin trans. I am over here in Windsor about 2 hours from Sac and know the hassle that my co-workers got with smog and having to go weigh the truck total CAL BS for sure!

You might want to look on CL for the 20" wheels. I see several instances listed in the NC CL. May have to be a little patient, but they eventually show up.

The 20's are going to yield a harsher ride and steep increase in price.
My Dave Smith truck in '06 just needed to be weighed which cost a big $10. At the time all Rams were 50 state certified but you still needed a California certification sticker. Moonbeam's regime sure makes things tougher. I don't know if Dave Smith gets California certified trucks in or if it's even possible. Enjoy that auto. I'm pretty sick of shifting too.
