2010 MyGig Nav System
2010 MyGig Nav System
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I bought my truck (2010 model) a few weeks ago and due to timeline issues and pricing was only able to get the standard Sirius/CD player radio in my truck. I wanted the full up REN MyGig Nav System w/all the bells and whistles and also the back-up camera. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where I could get this product without having to order through Mopar, as it is expensive. I have checked Ebaymotors and there are a lot of them for sale but most came out of Jeeps, etc...nothing was listed as being "useable" in a 2010 RAM. I am trying to find out if previous year model systems would fit in the 2010 RAM dash, or if anyone has one to purchase, or if there is any place to purchase these radios aside from the dealership. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I believe you just need a high speed unit, just check on ebay and surely you can find one for $5-600
I swapped one into my '07 using a harness from coastaletech.com but you probably dont need one with the '10 trucks. If you look on their website and download the lockpick manual it will tell you which units are high speed/low speed and how they are compatible. Also, you might as well get the RER since theyre in the same price range.(Nav)
Also check out here for more my gig info.

You need a high speed RER mygig. A REN doesn't have nav. I have the REN non nav in my truck and my Wife has the nav equipped RER in her Avenger.
If nav and u connect are important to you make sure you get a RER radio. (You can have u connect with a REN radio but you have to buy another module to make it work if it is not already installed.)
I have the REN with a backup camera and a Garmin for my navigation. I hate the nav in my wifes RER equipped Avenger. The Garmin is way more user friendly.
I am a little up on this as I just had the dealer install my radio and camera, then I added a lockpick myself

Thanks for the info. I guess I am just going to have to get with the Dodge house and see what we can do. Thanks again.
Kelley,
You mentioned that you didnt like the Nav that the system comes with...anything in particular that doesn't do well. Curious what your complaints are?

To me it is not user friendly, kind of hard to get around. Also you can not make any changes while you are driving without a lockpick, not even your passenger. Computer locks it out while you are in motion.
I do not like the mygig nav at all but I wish I had u connect for my Iphone.

Anyone ever try to "Name" a waypoint after you saved it to Favorites.
Suppose you have several favorites on the same street.
If the favorite is named a street address, it would be difficult to determine which place you are looking for.
i.e. 12345 Main St. or 13425 Main St. Rather that Mom's Restaurant or Bob's Gas Station.
