cpt Ron,
It was a 2500 crewcab ST automatic SRW. 3.73 gears, white. It had carpet, auto windows and doors, and cloth seats. Nothing else. Salesman said there were no rebates or incentives. I described the truck I am looking for and asked him a price. His response was, "I don't know."

I'm sure they'll be asking sticker for the first few months, until all the "me firsters" get theirs.

My dealer is showing several 3500 SRW 4x4 Crew Cab Long Bed CTD's in transit. Stickers are well north of $50k.

I thought I read somewhere recently that they were going to lower the sticker and ditch most of the incentives. Must not have kicked in yet.

Hmmmm
I was needing to make my purchase before the end of the yr for tax purposes but was wanting the 2010 model.
Kinda puts me in a small bind.
Wait for a better deal or take the tax break?

I read a article that stated the 2010 crew cab is going to be a little bit less then a 2009 quad cab. Never read anything about ditching the incentives.

Don't count on much for incentives for the next few months. Too bad. They've got us all trained to expect 10-12K in discounts on '08's and '09's, I'm afraid as lot of folks looking for similar deals on the '10's are going to disappointed in how little they'll be discounted for a while. That's OK, I can wait!

Yup, no rebates until dealer stock 09's are gone. Now on the other hand, if a guy is looking for a great deal on an 09 I would think this would be an opportune time to start hammering the dealerships.

Just went down to Glenn Thomas Dodge, Long Beach, CA., to look at a 2500 SLT 4X4 LB CC with the Big Horn package. Very nice truck! The SLT package includes nearly everything but leather. More features standard than the 3rd gen SLT, but about 4K more as well. The MSRP was $49,900. Very impressive and bold looking in person. I've got 145k on mine, so man it's tempting.

But with the body style changeover the used truck trade in values will be equally weaker and more so as the months go by.

Since I trade on new trucks, I'll never win that one even paying cash. Figure I might as well get rid of my 2008 as soon as possible. Agree, the best deals out there will be 2009s' as long as they last.

U.S. vehicle manufacturers have learned nothing during this recent recession. Their prices may reflect their bloated cost structures but I don't believe they reflect buyers willingness to fork over over $50K for a medium trimmed out truck.

When Toyota starts marketing a Heavy Duty Truck (and they will) built in our great country's South, I think we may finally see change (and prices) we can believe in.

There are incentives in Canada. When a friend of mine ordered, they told him there already was a 3K incentive. When I talked to the dealer about ordering one...I got the same story. He is still waiting for a VIN.

Saw a few at a local dealer here in Phoenix today. Two Crew Cab short bed 4x4 SLT's with the Cummins. One silver, one deep water blue. The blue was pretty sharp. Good looking trucks, but the proportions of the body make the standard size tires look pretty puny. The photos I've seen of the two tone paint seems to minimize that. The hoods have three little gill-like scoops on each side, non functional, but I liked them. Interiors are really nice, the dash is sharp looking, and very well laid out. Inclduding dealer add ons (bed liner, window tint, and some BS "desert protection package")they were each tagged at $52900. They also had a long bed crew cab ST 4x4 Diesel, tag on that one was $49900. At those prices it'll be a long time before I'd even consider one.
