Trouble loading tune from H&S mini maxx
 

I have installed the dpf delete pipe and have hooked up the h&s mini maxx. I tried to load the initial download but every time I reach the "turn key to the run position then press continue" I do that and press continue, it acknowledges my pressing of the button but does not go forward on the download. Has anyone seen this before?

I believe we had that problem on my son's truck which was done first, although it was over a year ago I honestly seem to remember he didn't follow the instructions exactly. I might suggest going over the installation instructions again, he did get it in the end but not sure what it was he was doing wrong as he wanted to do the download himself. After he managed to get the truck done it generated a message and although he had done the latest update there was another update issued within hours and that was to fix the message he got. Mine updated with no problems. If you still cannot get it phone H&S in the morning, their tech support was excellent and have helped with some other problems we had involving a high powered VHF com radio and the mini maxx. Just a thought did you disconnect all the 5 sensors and the pressure switches including the one on the CAT? I'm thinking he missed that one the first time around.

Yes, I just double checked all 5 sensors are unplugged. I believe I have a communication problem. When I power the tuner on, I see initializing communication, this never goes away until I hit the menu button. When I go to settings I see this:

I have been trying to limit my driving with the check engine lights on due to the exhaust sensors but I will need to drive it tomorrow. I am going to try to update the firmware since I noticed the tuner was packaged in October and there is a new update out as of December 5. I am hoping that works and I can delete before work. If it doesn't then I will be calling H&S tomorrow.

Yeh if I remember it says to limit driving to under 25 miles and my son did do way more than that before we got the job completed the next day, perhaps that was the problem.

An update to the problem I am having. The mini maxx has been freezing when I get to the Loading engine tune. I have connected the power wire to the fuse box and I am able to see the truck when I jiggle the hdmi cable first. I am not sure what else to do. I have contacted H&S with my updated progess. Hopefully will hear something in the AM.

Did you flip your OBD2 connector upside down? if so it requires removing some of the wrapping and a little stretching, could you have pulled a pin back in the OBD2 connector?

Today I received the new OBDII to hdmi box that H&S sent me. I was finally able to install the tune and so far no problems. I took it for a quick drive but had to stop due to the holiday. I will revisit tomorrow. The exhaust message to see dealer now is still on but I will clear the code tomorrow using the mini maxx. I wanted to thank everyone for their help. Have a happy holidays!
