Toyo & Nitto M/T Opinions
I have a 2010 ram 2500 crew cab 4x4 with a 2.5 leveling kit. I am running 285/70/17 cooper at3 tires. it's close to the time that I will need to replace the tires, around 50.000 miles on them , they have been great tires, but I want to try something different. I have been looking at the nitto and toyo mt tires. I was wondering what kind of mileage I could expect from them and how the highway noise is on them. I rotate every 3000 miles. If anyone is running this tire and size combo I would like to hear your thoughts on these tires. I do mainly hwy driving but do a fair amount of fishing on conservation property . thanks for any help.

My Toyo MT's rode great and wore well. I couldn't handle the moderate noise though coming from an AT. They induced a right drift which my 2.0 Fox corrected.
i can't speak for the Nitto version.
I do love these Toyo AT2's.

I have ran the toy is and loved them. I am running the nittos now and have about 47k miles on them and they are done. I think they would have went even further had I rotated them. Both are good and you can't go wrong work either

I miss my 2.0 Fox steering stabilizer. When I went to the zero pull AT2's,I had to depressurized the Fox 2.0's so low as to render them useless. Any psi higher than 60 yielded a left pull,so I'm back in a factory hydraulic ss.

Love the Nittos! They rode great and wore well.
Hated the Toyos. They were all over the place like they said before drove like an old truck with loose or bad steering box. I tried everything to correct it, tires pressure from 32 to 70 psi at 2lbs increments, new alignment, fox steering stabilizer, checked ball joints, tie rods, and track bar, but nothing helped them. They were junk and the worst set of tires I have ever bought.
Maybe it was a bad set I don't know. The salesman talked me out of a second set of nittos saying how much better the toyos are blah blah blah! Never again!!

Well,1000's of miles later I'm ready to return to the Toyo MT's. Aside from the noise they tracked better then these AT2's.
The other option now is the Toyo RT's. The shop I use is installing these with very good feedback from the owners. Nearly AT noise levels and no squirm. However, none of them carry a 2K# camper around on their back either.

On my 2nd set of Toyo open country MTs 35x12.5x17 and love them. They wear faster than I like but they do serve my purpose of chasing our cows up n down the tire chunking / cutting mountains of SE Oklahoma. I don't enjoy the tire pressure game up for towing and down for ride quality/ life but that's life

tires
I ended up with the nitto trail mt 285/75/17.I realy like them but they seem to take alot of weight to ballance. You get use to the hum.it sounds like a truck now. And they look great.i have about 8000 miles on them already and they are wearing good
Thanks for all the replies.

I've got a set of 37 x 13.5 x 17 on my lifted megacab...these things are junk...dry rotted after less than 2 years....pull to the right big time, wander all over the road. I called Toyo, sent them pictures and they said that the cracking was NORMAL.. I asked them if they would drive an 8000 pound lifted truck with dry rotted tires...needless to say they had no answer to that...More made in China garbage.

Toyos are the only tire to not weather check on me. They typically last four+ yrs due to low mileage and two of them get bombarded by the sun.
They're known for right pull and a 2.0 adjustable charged steering stabilizer killed my pull.
I think I took a hit on stability going from MT's to AT2's honestly but I'm
running 285's. A different animal.
The Dodge shop I use sells 37's all the time to guys. It's still the hit of the desert crowd.
They had some 35" RT's in there Friday and they took a maximum of 3.25 oz on new Methods. Feedback is good with a fraction of the noise,no squirm after 600 miles or so and zero pull.
