Auxiliary fuel tank
I’m a full time RV’er and double tow pulling a 32’ fifth wheel and 25’ trailer behind that. I’m looking to increase my fuel carrying capacity and add a 60 gal auxiliary tank in bed of truck (2016 RAM 2500 crew cab, full size bed). I’ve been looking at auxiliary tanks online & most I’ve seen in the 60gal capacity range would stick up above beds side by approximately 2.5” or more, does anyone have an auxiliary fuel tank & if so what gal. & manufacture?

I’m using a 75 gal Transfer Flow tank with the Trax3 computer. I also had the same system on my 06 Dodge.
The fuel tanks are monitored by the computer and when necessary the computer does the transfer from the Aux tank to the truck tank. It’s a great system, but is expensive. You should check out their web site. Transfer Flow.com
If you go this route install a power switch to the system that’s in line so you can turn it off. When towing I’m running with 110 gallons of fuel and it stays on. When home I fill the rear tank and more less keep it for awhile before doing a transfer. That way if a hurricane comes up I’ve got enough to get out of here.
I add the fuel fuel additive to the Aux Tank.

I have been running an RDS that is below bed height for years. it is a 60gal capacity that actually holds around 52 gallons. Mine is gravity fed and has absolutely no issues. Hands down the best mod on my whole truck. I think I gave $700 for it and the fill neck. I pull a 43' DRV that weighs just over 20k I can run over 600 miles between fuel stops.

I have the 60 gallon RDS bought from Northern Tool. Top has tool storage. I use gravity feed works fine plus below bed line. Also comes in 90 gallon with no tool storage, wish I had gotten the 90 gallon. saves a lot when you can fill at less expensive price per gallon. The tank is now installed in my 3rd truck. Gravity feed kit also from Northern Tool.
