Which smarty?
Just got back into the dodge cummins sickness, buying a 12 2500. I've been reading about deleting, the pros, and cons. I'm still confused on which smarty I need to buy in order to turn off the emissions garbage. I've seen the h s also, but thinking smarty is the way to go. Any advice would be appreciated.

Buying the Smarty will be more difficult as time goes on as the ME or delete programs are only loadable on the older versions that do not have a US serial number. The website states that those units will be locked out from loading ME/delete software.
Depending on what you want to tune, the Jr is a good value uploader. The Sr is for more adjustability if you are really set on that however, I don't think the SR is compatible with the 12's.

I've had Smarty, and h&s, just bought another h&s for our 12. The support is the best. Product is super easy to use, download to truck, and updates. Don't have to uninstall from truck to send to dealer, although recommended. Personally, I wouldnt touch Smarty. I trust h&s on a $60k+ truck.

Funny over the years how opinions change. MADS used to be the only way to access the Cummins software and was making the replacement ECM's for the 98 and up 24V trucks with specific tunes. First to crack the bootloader software in 09. How times change I guess. H&S did better marketing.
2010dodge - Best bet is to read the sticky thread by Blake Clark on how to properly delete and that will fill in the holes for what you want to do.

Yeah Smarty used to be the way to go. I've heard support from them is just about not there. Its personal preference I guess. I would say if you only want to delete for mileage, just get the Jr if you get a Smarty.

I have a 2011 6 sp with stealth deletes and smarty S67ME...ever since the deletes I have had a surge..after lots of research and finally Mads service center advised me they are having issues with the latest ME files causing the surge...they are updating a new version to correct the problem, but no idea when it will come out...it will not be available on their web site but it will be on the internet....the version should be "L" ....meanwhile my dodge bucks and the turbo isn't spooling correctly...can't go back to stock as I have the deletes done...so have to drive very sane in order to keep the surging down....Hope the new ME files come out soon, to tow with this is impossible...SO I am stuck for now.
Hope this helps you out.
