Always get fresh DEF. I'd look at it before pouring it in. Make sure there's no yellow beads.

Great info. Never really even thought about that. Is there a date on this stuff?

I would add to that don't trust the stuff you buy at the pump, since it's hard to know how old it is, how clean it is and how warm it's gotten. It costs a little more, but now I only buy the stuff on the shelf.

Anyway congrats on the new rig! They are great trucks. Be sure and post a pic for us.

Conversely............through around 243k miles, other than about 27.5 gallons of DEF purchased in 2.5 gallon jugs, my truck has performed flawlessly with bulk DEF at the pump...................

I have a 12 so I don't have to use it, but if I did, I would get it somewhere that moves alot of it. At our local Sam's club you see it going out the door all day long.

Congrats on the new truck. Here are a few things to keep up with:

Break-in Period – Follow the owner’s manual. Avoid heavy towing for the first 500 miles and vary your speed.

Oil Changes – Use the correct oil and change it on schedule. Many use synthetic for better protection.

Fuel Filters – Replace them regularly to protect the injectors.

Transmission Service – The Aisin is strong, but fluid changes are important. Stick to the maintenance schedule.

Coolant & DEF – Use the right coolant and keep an eye on the DEF system to avoid issues.

Tires & Suspension – Check tire pressure often and keep an eye on front-end components.

Exhaust & Emissions – Regens are normal. Drive it long enough to let them complete.

Vehicle Inspection Report – Get one regularly to spot issues early.

Enjoy the truck!
