N-Fab Steps Installed
I got my N-Fab cab length steps installed today. I had read online about having to drill to do the install, I did not have to drill anything.
This is for CC Cab Length steps, I do not know about the wheel to wheel and six step versions nor the other cab configurations. I did not take any pics during the install, but it is pretty straight forward.
Tools needed:
-Jack stands
-9/16 socket
-Ratchet wrench
-Beverage(s) of choice
1. Clean underside of truck
2. Underneath the truck are the factory mounting holes. Three sets of two holes with a square of black tape above them.
3. Remove the black tape to expose the opening. Install two clips at an angle in each opening so that the threads are visible through the mounting holes.
4. Set step on jack stands and line up with mounting holes.
5. Install 1 bolt and 1 washer in each mounting hole. Finger tighten.
6. Check for level. Finish tightening bolts. Front, rear, then center. Check level again.
7. Repeat for passenger side.
If you have a little more flex than you would like, grab some wood shims at Lowes. Loosen the bolts, slide the shim behind plate and re tighten bolts. I did not have to do this, but it worked like a charm on my buddy's truck.
Hope this helps somebody out.

N-Fab must have found a smaller clip/nut to slide in the factory mounting hole. I got so tired of drilling the big hole in order to install the big clip they used. I ordered a bag of the factory nuts to have around.

I would look into having those puppies sprayed with Linex, I give the 2 winters before they start pitting and surface rusting. I really liked the N-Fabs to but didn't get them because of that. You being from IA you know what I'm talking about.....that salt is some serious stuff! They look great though.
