More Mini Maxx questions
I installed a mini maxx on my truck quite awhile back and everything is working great. I bought this tuner used and it was on a 08' Ford previously, so I downloaded what i needed and ran with it.
My 1st question is my tune settings in order say stock, tow, street, and performance. Are there a bunch of different files out there? When I read stuff people talk about their tunes and they arent the same names as I have.
My 2nd question, I left the injection timing at the default of 3 and have used 4 but didn't know if that would increase pressures too much since I'm still running stock head studs so I changed it back. What should I have it set on?
My 3rd question, I was running with the torque management removed but this weekend I switched that back to stock because it just seemed too "jerky" and I figured all of that wasn't good on the transfer case and u joints and whatever else, so what's your input on that? Do I leave it stock or "on" or do I remove it again?
My 4th and final question, what are MCC tunes?

1. H&S didn't use the "terminology" you mention as in street, tow ect., but I forget the exact order, stock, mild, wild, and extreme or something like that. The different "tunes" were mostly to fix glitches but there was the option of creating your own tune. If you have a tune that works well just stick with it. I have only updated mine 3 or 4 times since 2011.
2. I too used "no timing" on both mine and my sons 2011 68RFE and G56 trucks.
3. Torque management... is not applicable to my 2011 68RFE but I can tell you from my sons 2011 G56 and his current 2013 Aisin that if you tow the last thing you want when you pull out into traffic with a big trailer is for the engine to decide it isn't going to go anywhere.

Yes remove it, with TM active should you spin a wheel going from gravel to pavement the TM kicks in and you don't have much response, dangerous if you have a heavy trailer behind. Also if towing heavy on gravel, snow or ice and the truck gets a little loose and the TM decides to "slow down" without applying the trailer brakes it's so easy to jack knife. On the 2013 it can't be permanently deactivated as it re engages above 40mph.

All good replies from Busboy. I did want to point out that at some point I'm pretty certain H&S renamed there tune levels for the Mini Maxx only as I recall looking into the Black Maxx files (it's what I have) and found where the text could be changed. I never did change it though. If I recall, it was towards the end of their time but before things got hot with the EPA when they updated the names of the tune level.
