I'm new to diesel truck ownership and I'm needing some education on a mini maxx tuner. I'm looking at buying it from an individual and it's unlocked, was on a Ford previously. Does it have the software for my truck or do I need to somehow download it on the tuner before I can put it on my truck? Also, reading the manual for it online I take it since I plan on doing deletes, I would use the high sulfur settings? I've never posted before so I'm learning how to use this site. I have a 2010 dodge. Thanks.

 

I don't think a Ford tuner will work on a Dodge. Totally different software that comes on it.

 

Look for the sticky thread about deleting on the top of the High Perf section. Read it completely. Several times if you have to but you will get absolutely everything you need to know about deleting there.

 

The mini maxx has all the files for ford chev and dodge. you choose the truck when you do the download.

 

Thanks a lot, that's what I thought but didn't know if that changed with older vs newer tuner. It's at the post office now so I will find out soon!

 

If it's out of date post back here and I can try to email you the update files. I downloaded all of them off the website before they took them down and I'm sure I still have them somewhere. I have the mild, mild w/turbo, hot, and hot w/turbo.

 

Rollin', when you say "all the files" does that include Ford files too? I have a buddy with a 6.4 and he never did his updates before the site went poof.

 

Better late than never but yes, I have the full downloads off the website and it has all the ford and chevy files on the card as well. The mini maxx isn't like the older tuners that you had to load just your truck on it. When you do the download it asks you which truck and loads the right files.

 

Do you have the last update fore the XRT ProTuner? I was debating switching to BD and just sell the H&S tuner.

 

I only have the mini-maxx files. Just what was needed for my truck.
