Lowering EGT while towing

Good afternoon,

Im looking for some help and idea on how to lower my EGT while towing. Here is the rundown on the truck

2012 Ram 2500 4x4 mega = 124,000 miles
deleted using H&S xrt pro tuned to TOW w/ stock timing, overdrive tranny tune fro H&S installed.
4' delete pipe with stock muffler and tail pipe
AFE stage 2 dry filter CAI.....

Edge Insight CTS for gauges with pyro probe in blockoff plate at rear.

Here is the towing stats:
18000-20000 lbs GVW
65-70 mph
18-23 psi boost (depending on slope of road)
coolant temp = 217
EGR temp = 1000-1220 (1260 highest spike while passing) 1100 average

Looking to lower EGT while towing....which is the best way to do that with minimal $$$$.... I'm also purchasing an auxiliary transmission cooler....

Intake Elbow?
5" exhaust?
Intercooler pipe upgrade?

I'm open to suggestions and comments..... thanks in advance

On my 2011 68RFE I found installing a finned aluminum transmission pan with a drain plug dropped my trans temp 10 to 12 degrees. Secondly having the EGT probe in the block off plate is 100 to 150 deg cooler than in the exhaust manifold "Y" at anything above idle, I run both locations and can see both side by side. I have 3 14k trailers I tow and I try to keep EGT's around 900deg on the "Y" location which spools much quicker than the block off plate. If climbing a hill or strong head winds I hold it in 5th to keep EGT's within range. If you are seeing 1000 -1220 from the block off plate you can add at least 150deg and possibly more.

I have a 2009 with similar mods, but 2 wheel drive. You can put the probe in near the middle of the manifold by removing the small pressure line in the ex manifold, and drilling it out & tapping for 1/4 pipe. Then use a pipe to swagelock adapter. If your deleted your not using the pressure sensor anyway. I would like to know about lowering EGT's too. I can usually keep mine at or below 1K degrees, but always want them cooler.

Thank you all for the input.....

I have thought about changing the probe location, but don't have enough confidence in myself to drill and tap the manifold without getting shavings in the turbo.

no concern
what little shavings will blow out the exhaust when you start the engine!

Ok Here is an update..... I know it been a while.

I tapped the Manifold at the split and noticed a large gain in EGT. I also installed the pusher intake manifold.

The truck runs great. Throttle response is unbelievable now. EGT cruising empty is a little lower but hard to tell how much with mixed city/hwy driving. They cool down a lot faster when I stop and before a shut down.

I'm planning on taking a 2,000 mile round trip with the travel trailer in a little over a week, so we will see how it does.
