Sounds like it could be fuel pressure giving you problems. Do you have any gauges measuring the supply or high pressure?

Sounds like your TCV butterfly is closing? I heard that this could be choking the motor with the EGR disabled. Try unplugging the butterfly valve on the intake, maybe that will get rid of the problem.

The smarty will not take care of fuel delivery. It will or can bump high pressure fuel but it doesn't help if the delivery is down. My 04.5 did the same thing you're talking about and a FASS fixed it up. Could be lots of other things too but the fuel seems obvious to me since I had the exact problem. Hopefully some deleted guys can chime in. I haven't touched my new truck yet.

Just a question, when was the last time you changed the fuel filter? The Smarty will naturally be calling for more fuel and if you're plugged up it will starve the motor under hard excelleration. Start simple and see if it helps.

I have the same issue with my 2011. smarty jr me set on s1, but i have full deletes. if i smoothly roll on throttle it takes off like a rocket ship, but if i stand on it, there are lots of up and down shift activity, its like the transmission is lost trying to find out what to do, which i guess would exhibit like an engine power loss, but i really think the tranny is trying to decide what to do more so than the engine is starved for fuel. H&s had a tranny tune that i think addressed that issue on their end. I dont believe mads ever did though. However, i will change my fuel filter and see if there is an improvement. good luck

My issue happens the same way yours does I dont think its a tranny issue thow as I have a 6 speed. I changed the fuel filter still have the problem it might have helped a little thow. Well i guess gauges are coming sooner than later and prob a FASS I was hoping not to have to spend so much money at one time

You might be able to use an app on an iphone or android with the OBD interface and be able to look at rail pressure. At least if you saw an unhealthy drop in fuel pressure while experiencing the "miss" it confirm your suspicions before you spent a lot of money. Or, maybe one of your friends has a monitor you could use to watch the pressure to try it out just for testing purposes.

I'll see what I can find for smart phone apps out there.

Edit: Looks like an app with bluetooth OBD2 adaptor called Torque is the best one right now. Looked on ebay and saw the adaptor for $25. Not sure what the all in price is but you might check first before buying all that other stuff.

I wish companies stopped recommending Smarty tuners for 2010+ trucks. I feel for you guys that are having problems that are 100% caused by poor/unreliable tuning or lack of install instruction, how difficult would it be for the manufacture to have a page on their website dedicated to the proper way the truck needs to be modified in order to work with their tuning?
