Know Nothing about Cummins!! First time owner! ?'s

I'm new to owning a Cummins. I have been reading all I can about owning a Cummins. I just bought a 2012 cummins with 19,000 miles on it. It is lifted, I think 6 inch lift and has 22 inch rims and 37/13.50/22 Toyo MT's on it. It rubs at times and not crazy about that, especially with the cost of the those tires. I know you can trim, I just have no tools to do so, where would be a good place to have this done? Tire shop?

I have been reading a lot about deletes. I guess I'm nervous about doing because of the warranty issues. I don't have a couple 1000 sitting around to fix it if something goes wrong. I read now that you can't get a tunner that is good now do to EPA, is that correct? I have been researching H&S tunners a little. Any info would be greatly appreciated. What is a full delete? tuner, exhaust, air intake, etc. like I said I have no idea. I have read that guys love it when they do full deletes and then I read guys throwing codes, and from what I gather codes are that something is wrong with your truck and needs to be fixed. I also have read things like head bolts going bad? Costing thousands to fix. Any info and incite to this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.

Howdy and welcome from the State East of you.

I can't help you with your tires. I never had a truck with a 6" lift so not sure what your best option is (adjustable track bar, wheel spacers, back spacing, etc).

Deletes are a personal issue. It depends on how wound up your dealer is about them, and how comfortable you are about not having a warranty. From what you said, I would gather you'd be better off waiting until after the warranty expires to do the deletes. In the mean time, gather the parts if you can (especially the tuner) as they might get scarce. Until then, you'll get crappy mpgs (especially with those tires), frequent oil change alerts, and soot in your intake, but at least you'll have your warranty.
