I use a bully PMT on my 2005. its one of my first mods i did over 175,000 miles ago. Automatically defuels as it approaches 1250. has a ton of great info and mods at your fingertips.

If redline you mean max safe EGT temp ...i think 1300 ....or redline RPM for the truck is somewhere around 3k.....

Been doing some reading on the CTS2 monitor ....looks like if you are reading EGT's strictly from the OBDII port and no probe ...the oem EGT reading is downstream from the turbo in the exhaust...looks like you still need to plumb a pyro near the no. 6 cylinder in the ex manifold. Still under warranty and dont want to goof that up. What is everyone else doing to monitor EGT's without having to drill and tap a pyro???? adding 300 degrees to the CTS 2 reading????

Yes, EGT.

If the OEM EGT probe is downstream of the turbo then 1000F is a good number that equates to 1250-1300. When the computer defuels what is the indicated EGT?

Good question....I don't know if the truck defuels on its own when it senses an EGT temp thats high...I know when I had my 04.5 5.9l i could continue to press the gas and get EGT's to 1500....I think you have to have an aftermarket programmer that would read EGT' s and set defuel parameters through your programmer. I had a smarty SR on my 04.5 set to defuel at 1250 EGT.

I dont think I'm going to get the Edge CTS2 until I can plumb a pyro into the exhaust manifold for a pre-turbo EGT reading (most accurate temp reading) . I'll wait til my warranty is up.

On my 2011 6.7 I monitor EGT in 2 places, one by the #6 cylinder and one at the "Y" both pre turbo. At anything above idle the #6 spools much slower and is 100 to 150 degrees cooler than the "Y" location, both read almost identical at idle.
