that OEM plastic cap just chaps me every time I see it...
i guess the green is ok, just wanted black to match the truck... and for $35, i should get what i want, right? or no? That cap you have is actually just a "shipping" cap.

that's what my Finance Manager told me, so i went to the parts desk to get what you linked to, but the Parts guy could NOT find it.

well, that is what the parts guy told me, to get a Bung Plug from the Plumbing section at Lowes.
I would have been better off than paying $20 for this cheap piece of chinese plastic from the dealer. I kinda feel double embarrassed: one that I bought a $50K truck without checking to see if it had a gas cap, and two: paying another $20 for this other piece of plastic to cover up my previous mistake it's so pathetic, I have not even bothered to put it on Attachment 49626 Attachment 49627 Attachment 49628 |
Truth is......you really don't need a cap due to the design of the capless fill system.
Capless fill has been around for years on some FoMoCo products......without any issues. I'm over 143k on my '14 and have ran over 10,552 gallons of fuel through it and have had no issues.
