Bully Dog Question.

so I've had my bully dog on for a month or so now and since doing so have seen my first and second full regeneration since I bought the truck new. Any long term effects to having more common regenerations? I originally bought mine to be able to clear the phantom code that keeps popping up, if this becomes a issue i may ditch it and install a auxiliary fan the lower intercooler to keep the heat down.

My 14 would do a regen every 100 miles when it was stock.

What code are you getting?

Right now it is the p026a and the dealer ship is saying it's my bumper but I call b.s. I have one sensor they haven't replaced on the intake just passed the air filter I'm going to replace, now I keep getting a p1451 evap, someone said it's my dpf because of the chip because all hvac systems work.

Anyone with a Bully Dog notice that the exhaust brake doesn't come on at idle??? Apparently it's a "normal" Bully dog thing.. has anyone found a way around this??

DodgeCowboy 12-23-2015 11:57 PM

You know I have never noticed that,I'll have to pay attention when it's warming up in the morning. If it's true I think it would be a good thing because your not trying to take off against the exhaust brake,I know from a stop my 6sp feels stronger down low and is faster to build boost and just flat drives good.

It's good to have the exhaust brake on at idle for engine warm up and the instant you touch the go pedal it should release, I use mine all the time for warm up in my 2011 mini max. Does your bullydog have the transmission tuning or any of the "unlock" features like fog lights on with main beams, that sort of thing? The bullydog we got doesn't have anything.

Interesting these threads just die before concluding. I'm looking at the BD GT. It does list the ability to reset the trans adaptive learning, basically unlearning and starting over. I'd think this would be handy for me as I don't haul often and use my rig as a dd so when I do load my camper or boat on, I can reset what the trans has learned over the last month or whatever and start from scratch with the heavier load.
