2012 RAM 3500 tires
Blew the sidewall out of my left rear tire while hauling horses last night. 10K miles on my 2012 Longhorn 3500. BF Goodrich Rugged trail A/T came with the new truck. Has anyone else had problems with these tires? How about some tire recommends? The dealership wants 340 Canadian dollars for new rubber and install.

Isn't there a tire warranty that comes with a new vehicle? Maybe not in Canada, but the last 3 new vehicles I have purchased all had a limited tire warranty packet. I would also try to contact BF Goodrich to see what they can do for you. Lastly, do you guys have a Sam's Club up there? I took my wifes tires/wheels to them to have them balanced and they said there was enough tread on them that I could have bought their tire warranty (didn't buy it)...even though they were not purchased from them. Just some thoughts to ponder and look into.
Sorry to hear about the blow out.

Is yours a single rear wheel? My wife's is a single rear wheel 3500 with the BFG's on it and have had no issues. I've had those tires on my '05 F250 and '09 2500 and my dad got 70,000 miles out of his original set on his '04 F250 and put a second set on. I'd say it was just a bad tire.
I just bought 6 new 235/80-17E tires for my 2010 3500 4x4 Larimie. Did a lot of research and finally went with a set of Cooper Discovery AT3s and could not be happier. Very smooth and REALLY quiet for an AT style tire.
Much cheaper than Michelins or BFGs here in Tennessee. Purchased them at the local Tire Barn.

Yes, my truck is not a dually. Dodge dealer was no help, and was informed by BFG dealer that BFG did not warranty their tires. 250 canadian $ for new rubber plus balance. I definitely will look at replacement tires that carry a warranty.

Thats a bunch of bull. All tires carry a some sort of a warranty. Same with BFG.
Your truck is new - you should be able to get at least 45k to 50k miles out of them...not sure how many miles BFG calls but I found a link you should take a look at and see if it applies. If you forked over the money already, and what you find does apply, I would contact them direct to see what your options are.

Take your tire to Kal tire. I got warranty on 4 on my 05 no problem. They were all cracked bad on the sidewall.
On my 12 I had them off before I got it home. They are worse than the Continentals on the Fords.
