What's a reasonable amount of time at dealer?
My 14 3500 blew a water pump at 45,000 miles on the last day of our vacation. Unfortunately we were towing our camper and had kayaks on the roof. Total nightmare to get everything towed back home. So we dropped the yaks and camper at a friend of a friends in the area. Had truck towed home to dealer. They got it on Monday it's now Friday and they are just finishing up the water pump. I also asked for an alignment and to do all the recalls and fix the not working backup camera. I just got the call to pick it up and they only we're able to do the water pump and said they tried to get my truck in to town fair for an alignment. Is any of this reasonable? 1 week to change out a water pump and nothing else. So now I will be without the truck for 2 weeks. Driving a Chrysler 200. Does anyone have any more info on the recall that replaces the scr system ? Thanks

Sorry about your dealer service experience . Time to find a new one! A water pump on these trucks should only take about an hour to replace. I've had my past CTDs in and out of the dealer in an afternoon for FAR more work.

I'm 65 years old and I have worked on nothing but diesels for the past 30 years. I replace 3 SCR cats on a slow day and sometimes a water pump or 2. If they couldn't get it done in one day then they are either very busy or very slow. Warranty time is only 2.1 for SCR and 1.1 for water pump.
