State of the art Fuel Filter

Based on a Cummins newsletter I just read the 2010 HD CTD's have a new fuel filtration module and filter cartridge that is very effective and easy to service. (this probably has been mentioned on the forum before)

Check it out:

I am sensitive to fuel filtering and water removal, having owned several diesel boats. This design looks like it eliminates the need to consider after market fuel filtering systems. Ed

Has anybody checked to see how much these new filters cost? I hope they aren't like the 07-09 Ram diesels!

Just bought one at a Calif dealer --$26 plus tax, so they are not cheap but better than having to install a primary and secondary filter system.

Geno's Garage now has them and I believe they are $24-$26/ piece. I just ordered 3 of them.

So, is that the new filtration system that can be purchased and used for the 07-09's? Up here, the dodge dealer (and I use that term loosely) wants $125.00 for the new style setup.

No, I believe that the 2010 are top loaded filters similar to some of the older 5.9L engines. The filter was relocated from the 07.5 to 09 trucks.
Cummins has provided a new 5 micron filter and housing with a replaceable filter now for our trucks. I believe this is what the Dodge dealer is willing to sell you for the $125.
I bought the new filter and housing replacement from Geno's Garage with a new replaceable filter. The new housing and filter cost is $49.95, part number FS43257. The replaceable filter element cost is $36.95, part number is FS43258.
This is cheaper than the dealer cost just for the filter and housing.
