Remote start messed up?
So I have a trouble code in the truck from pulling the actuator out of the EGR- at least I believe that is what its from. Fine, dandy, until the smarty comes out, not much I can do with the code if I want the EGR disabled. The wifey tried to use the remote start the other day, truck starts and runs about 10 seconds and dies. Use the key the old fashioned way, and starts/runs great. SOOOO, I'm assuming because the CEL is on, the remote start is disabled? [verymad]

yes. it is a safety feature because the ECM thinks something is wrong.

Might have to look at the smarty jr. Had a few smarty's on my other trucks, and they were nothing short of amazing. Want to stay loyal, but its hard to be patient sometimes LOL. The wifey drives the truck more than I do, and she is all for cranking it up and doing the deletes

Yep, EGR code will disable the remote start.
