P0102 No Power to MAF Connector Pin 2

Friends,

I need help. We are suppose to be on the road with the trailer to pick up our kiddos in NM and we are stuck home.

I have a P0102 for the Mass Air Flow Sensor "A" Circuit Low. Running diagnostics, I'm suppose to be getting the equal battery voltage out of Pin 2 of the MAF connector, but it is dead. No voltage.

There is supposedly a "smart power relay feed" somewhere, but I'm not sure where it is at.

I was on my way to work this morning when I noticed a problem and the check engine light came on. I also have very limited engine break...really non-existent, but the turbo does work.

I did find that the connector for the long time removed EGR cooler somehow made its way down to the exhaust manifold and melted the connector and some wires. I clipped those wires back a few inches and the rest of the wires seem fine.

I'm lost on this and really need to get going. I'm sure the truck will pull fine, just feels under powered and hauling our trailer, I really would prefer to have the EB.

Any idea folks?

Oh! I found a wiring diagram - page 31:

http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/201...tionsystem.pdf

that shows the relay is powered by fuse M37. The diagram shows it as a 15A fuse, but the TIPM lid shows it as a 10A fuse for the horn #1.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey all. I got it fixed. Fuse M51. I think it was ASD #1, 20A fuse. I replaced it with an unused 20A and everything worked, EB and MAF sensor. I suppose after those wires melted, that is what blew the fuse. Those wires are now heat shrinked and tucked away.

Now, if the SM would just, check for melted wires, repair said wires, and check fuse M51, it would have saved a lot of time.

Good to see you got things fixed. Back in the days before computers when I worked on all vehicles we often blew fuses and not having access to WD's the quick method of finding a blown fuse was to check both sides of every fuse with a test light with the key on. Kind of a tedious process but it did prove the fuse was ok. I recently went through intermittent turbo problems and it was the exhaust brake sticking closed, only indication was no boost pressure and a dead pedal feel. Some hard driving got things working again.

Yeah, using the test light was how I found the problem. The WD are a joke. Heck I think the SM that I ordered from Tech Authority was a hack job from a couple different models years.

I saw your post about the turbo--glad that's all it was for you. My truck felt like it had a dead throttle, just wasn't responding the way it should, but there was boost, just sluggish on the downshift. So my initial thought was a dying turbo...just in time for vacation. So glad it wasn't that though.
