No power below 2000rpm

What I have noticed with my 2012, 3500 SRW 4x4 long crew cab manual tranny is that it is gutless below 2000rpm.
Even with the Minimax installed is does not build power untill 2000rpms.

This Really dissapoints me because the whole point of buying a diesel is the low end power along with fuel efficiency.
My 03 and 05 both had tons of power comming on at 1200rpm and going to around 2000rpm, then they both would stop acclerating fast and keep steady.

This new truck comes on very sluggish and only opens up after 2000 up to 3000rpm. It seems funny that one has to run a straight 6 at such high rpms.

Any thoughts.

I haven't noticed that at all. If I turn traction control off I can slide it sideways from a stop and go situation. I wonder if the manuals have some sort of defueling so as to not hurt the stock clutch and DM flywheel? My 04.5 NV 5600 had no problems below 2k either and that was with a 71mm exhaust wheel.

Turn the torque management off, hold on, and say a prayer for your clutch.

The first thing I noticed about the 2011 vs. my old 2003 was the perceived lack of low-end. I think you just have to push on the go-pedal harder to get that seat-of-the-pants feeling in the 4th gen. The 2003 was really twitchy by comparison, rock-crawling in 4-lo could be quite a handful. Also, after a bunch of city driving/idling the 4th gen's DPF will fill up and limit low-end power. Go tow something heavy or burn it out on the highway and it will improve.

I guess you're deleted though?

Hey guys-

I too have the same sluggish feeling in my truck. The more throttle I give it and start of in 2nd, it will bog down even more. Then I hit 2000 rpm and it takes off like a whipped dog. It is a bummer to have so much power but can't get a good take off.

How do I shut offf the traction control?
