2010 3500 Humming/Groaning Sound

I have a 2010 Ram 3500 4wd crew cab ,auto transmission. I had some work done recently to the front end (ball joints ,drag link etc new right front wheel bearing)I have had a humming groaning sound which I believe is in the front end region. This noise was previous to the work that was done .
When I put my winter tires on I had noticed the front left wheel had movement ,the shop(dealership) verified it the bearing/hub was toast. So after only changing the right side I still have my original drivers side bearing which seemed ok. When the technician took it for a drive after he worked on it said there is still the noise. The pinion seal has been leaking and they were going to change that but had run out of time hI live about 70km from the shop so needed to get home . I checked my front driveshaft for any u joints best I could and thought maybe a pinion bearing but no movement there,I drained the front diff and inspected it other than the oil being a bit dirty everything looked new .I could not find any metal shaving or pieces whatsoever. This humming is constant but tapers off around 50-60km or seems like it does things maybe just get noisier . I switched into 4H and no change no vibration etc I turned the wheel both ways and still hums,I know it’s not my tires as my summer tires were on previously any ideas what to try? Before I take it back to the shop

Thanks

One or two piece rear dive shaft?
If its two piece like mine was, it might be center bearing on shaft. Climb under and try to move it around. Mine had lots of play yet I was convinced it was in the front end.

It”s a 2 piece shaft carrier bearing was done a year or ago check that it seems fine I’m starting to narrow it down to a front drive shaft shaft u-joint from the transfer case to the diff if I could only find a long toro bit to get the driveshaft off

Yeah those are difficult. Clean them out good before inserting the bit.
I sprayed then down with anti seize and then I used a u-joint on my torx bit.

Groaning noise

You can’t go wrong replacing the front U-joint, when u do don’t cut corners get a top quality u-joint. I had my rear drive line rebalanced at the same time.

I’m on my 3rd carrier bearing in 95k miles, I recently replaced it and all the u-joints and had it balanced. When towing my 15k toyhauler it felt like I was riding the rumble strip on the side or the road at fairly low rpm1500-1800 and fairly heavy throttle. Helps to keep the rpm up 1800-2200 rpm on hills, trans works easier and exhaust temps are lower.
