greasing front drive shaft

when greasing the front drive shaft do you have to put the main transmission in neutral and the transfer case as well in neutral to get the drive shaft to rotate to be able to get to the zirk fitten . to be able to grease it ?

I just jacked up one front tire. This allows the differential to function and let's you rotate the driveshaft, also spinning that tire in the air.

No.....Just jack up (Lift) one of the front wheels off the ground. When the wheel is off the ground you can turn the wheel which will turn the forward 4X4 drive shaft, and help you locate the hard to find dimple zerk fitting. It's a bugger to find. Don't give up it's there :banghead
Good luck
