Extended warranty?
Picking up new truck later in the week. 7yr extended warranty is $3700. Would you pay for the extra 4yrs coverage? 3500 Longhorn dually pretty much loaded.

That is a question you need to decide on your own...some people really like extended warranties others feel they are a scam. I think it depends a lot on how you plan to use your vehicle and how long you plan to keep it as well.
I do know years ago you could get them to deal on the warranty, often getting it half price if you push it. I purchased it one year and kept getting calls that I was eligible for it from Chrysler. I finally called and found out I paid for it but the dealer never turned it in. Geez they held my money for a year and a half and said Whoops. I made them give the money back after I told them I had the paperwork and already spoke with Chrysler about it. Your experience may vary ;) Good luck on whatever you decide on! |
Make sure it is a FCA warrantee and not a 3rd party.
We did it for coverage of all the computer stuff in these new trucks. Housted |
You can get a Chrysler Max care warranty online for much cheaper, do some research it will save you some serious coin. Don’t ever buy your warranty from the dealer!

I think I paid around $2300-$2500 for the one I got through FCA if remember correctly.

Also realize no warranty I have ever looked at has covered emissions in any regard. One thing to consider, after the federal emissions warranty is out your on your own (for emissions related issues). The next thing to consider is you did purchase a high end truck with lots of electronics so it may make good sense for you to buy one. A base model St or Tradesman like I own is a bit tougher decision.
Shop around you can save a ton of money. |
Thank you for the replies.
