I keep getting a post card from Cummins from time to time to do the "complimentary" recall. There is no was that I'll do that when it will increase my def and fuel consumption during all forms of driving especially if I do any towing. Here in Lubbock, Tx they don't do any kind of emission testing for any vehicle for the last 10 years I've been living here even when it was mandatory for gas vehicles. Am I the only one that feels this way?

 

“Cummins developed software that helped the vehicles pass emission testing but increased emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in normal driving conditions and used it model years 2013 through 2018. The software limited nitrogen oxide pollution during emissions tests but allowed higher pollution during normal operations.”

 

So basically, they did the same thing that Volkswagen did with their diesels.

Honestly, We weren't about to take our 16 Ram in for that recall. Then last summer, the DPF crapped out on us and we just deleted the truck. All of this became a moot point last Monday when the wife was run off the road with the horse trailer and the truck and trailer were totaled.
