Electrical Gremlin?
This has happened to me two years in a row, and about this time of year each time. First time it happened was in Sierra Vista, AZ, two years ago, second time was in Alamo, TX, this past year, then again today.
Drove the truck this past Saturday - no issues. Hasn't been driven since. Went to start it this morning and batteries are dead. Barely get a glow from the light under the hood, and no interior lights at all. Put it on a 'hot' charge for about an hour - started right up. Had an aftermarket brake controller installed at a local shop - they load-tested the batteries and they tested out fine. Alternator checked out fine. Batteries are 2 years old (replaced them the first time it happen in 2014 as those were the OEM's and likely would have failed soon anyway). So it seems I have some kind of electrical gremlin that happens around this time of year - Every. Freakin'. Year. Anyone else have an issue like this?[duhhh] Thanks, Bob |
I never trust the auto hood light switch, I leave them unplugged then just plug it in if needed.
