A/C compressor locked up after sitting

Ever since I picked this truck up from new it has always had a huge clunk from the engine area just after starting. I realized it would happen if the A/C was in the on position. This will only occur after the truck sits overnight. After looking into it I found that when the A/C clutch engages the compressor must be locked up due to pressures and it seems like its going to snap my belt or break my tensioner! If I forget about this problem and switch the A/C on at about 2500 RPM its violent. Any idea's? Do I have to have the compressor replaced at only 5k? Is this a common thing? Im hoping this truck never has to see the dealer..

With the truck shut off and everything cool try to turn the very front of the compressor, it will have some resistance but you should be able to turn it by hand. If you can't turn it by hand there's something wrong, possible overcharged? but most likely the compressor is on the way out and should be changed before it chews itself up causing all kinds of grief.

I will check and see if there is a nut or bolt on the front of the clutch that I can turn otherwise Im just rotating the clutch right?

No, if you turn the very front of the compressor (not the bit the belt rides on) then that plate is mounted directly on the compressor shaft and you will be rotating the internal compressor. You must use your hand to turn as you may tighten of loosen the nut otherwise and the air gap is important.
