Are the emissions as bad as everyone says, I have read several horror stories. Is anyone not having issues? Would like to get a new truck but worried about the DEF/Emissions issues. How often do you have to take it to the dealer to get the filter cleaned, what is the cost? Fuel filters look like they are a lot more expensive, any other big cost?

I wouldn't say the emissions are all worked out, but the DEF trucks (2013+) are getting better much better mpgs (due to less EGR) and don't clog up as bad if used as a grocery-getter. You'll always hear more horror stories than not. Just the nature of internet forums.

That said, I suspect a massive recall is in the works to fix this:

Once your warranty is up, you'll likely want to delete anyway to avoid fixing this stuff on your own dime.

I have to say that the 2016 I bought Oct , 2016 is the best truck out of the gate so far. Mileage is great and DEF is averaging 2500 miles per 4 gallons. Nothing but a work truck.
