codes P-2509 and P-049D

Hi all

2 days ago I got into my truck to go somewhere and the check engine light came on. Yesterday I went to Oreilly's auto parts and the guy checked the codes. He said it flashed 4-5 codes. I asked him for a print out of the codes and this is what they are.

P-2509 ECM / PCM
power input signal intermittent
P-049D
ex gas Recirc A control
Position exceeded learning limit

I am really hoping someone has a good idea of what I am looking.

As always thanks in advance

truck is a 2010 3500 laramie cummins 4x4

Thanks!!

Looks like your EGR needs to be cleaned and a good possibility your batteries need to be replaced. If you really want to jump into diagnosing, here are the diagnostic procedures for each of the codes.

First, thank you for the suggestion.

Over the last couple months I've only driven the truck when absolutely necessary. I have noticed that there are times when the check engine light does not come on at all.

This past weekend I finally had the time to have the EGR valve and cooler cleaned. Took it for a ride and the light came on so I stopped and had it checked at autozone. The P049D EGR Control Position Exceeded Learning Limit code came up. It seems to run fine however the code is still there. How do I get the code cleared or does this mean I still have a problem?

For what it is worth the P2509 code is not there and I did nothing to correct that problem. The batteries are fairly new, maybe a year. So I'm not sure what that problem was.

Again Thanks for the help
