2010 Dually CC 4x4 towing capacity
I am trading in my 06 dually 6sp manual Monday for a 2010 Laramie dually with 4.10 gear and auto, my only concern is I tow a 18k 43' toyhauler and have never owned an auto for towing. I hope this new truck will tow it as good or better than my 06. My 06 just had the G56 replaced under warranty with 35.5k miles on it because the stock pos dmf took a crap and took out the main shaft on the tranny. Thats when I noticed the 2010 auto with 4.10 gears has a 25.4k gvwr and thought this is the time to upgrade. From what I have been reading the new auto is holding up fine for heavy towing. I hope I am not making a mistake. I have until Monday to feel good about my purchase.

Hauled many toy haulers and other heavy RV's plus 13,000 Kilograms of strongman gear with my 07.5 6.7 auto. Flawless and no issues. I was thinking the same way as you when I switched to an auto from my 04 after owning manual trans trucks for may years. I bought an 07 5.9 with 4 spd auto...its was 'ok' compared to this 6 spd auto. The only thing I did do manually was to gear down in tow/haul myself when approaching a steep grade. From my experience, you will be pleased.
