2010 DPM removal woes????

I have had my 2010 since new, and it now has 77k miles on it. I am going to get the ccv filter and do that myself. Other than that, the only maint i have done is oil and fuel filter changes 5k/10k and the tranny. I think I am due to have my DPF cleaned though? I called my dodge dealer and they said it takes two days to do this. This really pisses me off. Who designs a truck that you have to leave with a dealer for two days for something scheduled? So right now, I am on the fence about this.

Do I delete the DPF? Currently where I live there are no emissions testings. I can see them coming though...

Do I take it to them and have the dpm cleaned and accept the fact that every other year I have to be without my truck for a couple days?

Do I just sell it and say the hell with diesel trucks and get a 1500 chevy half ton truck and be done.......

I have owned 7 Cummins powered dodge trucks. Rarely had any issues with ANY of them. And this 2010 has been fine just crappy mileage. I don't want or need any power. I just want a trouble free truck that I can rack up a ton of miles while getting the best fuel economy.

Thoughts??????

No, you do not need to have the DPF "cleaned" by the dealer, continue driving the truck. If they say you need to then find another dealer. Are you sure it's not a EGR cleaning?

Since you are out of warranty and have no emissions requirements I would definitely delete if I were you. Nothing to lose in the long-run and you'll gain the old Cummins back that you know and love.

(You'd probably spend as much on the DPF cleaning anyway as you would on a delete kit).
