I have never heard of someone tuning the transmission on a standard. But I will let you know if its worth it on the truck none the less. I guarantee you that I will buy a SMARTY when avail. I just could not hold out anymore and it will pay me back in fun/fuel soon enough. Next step, Fuel/Oil filtration upgrades, headstuds, billet torque converter, and whatever turbo mod needs to take place to put all that to work. I just can't imagine having anywhere close to 1000tq

WOW, you reeled me into that one. I was even being serious. I just do not like to be a SMART A.. to you seasoned DTR guys that have helped me in the past.

OBTW, I am eventually going to make my stock tires combust via U-Tube. Ought to be a good video.

Not yet...

Only got 1900 on it as of this morning. I might change the oil first.

I think I may order the gauges here shortly. At least quell that need for a bit. Then its on to the exhaust, deletes, and Glacier MK2. I promised the wife Id order one set of stuff a month.

Then if the Smarty aint out by then Ill have no choice but to jump ship.

Just so you guys know, I spoke to Robert at H&S and he said be sure to install the tuner/software on the vehicle before performing the wrench work on the actual physical deletes. They have had a couple damaged in shipping and some of the customers spent the time deleting and had to re-install to drive their trucks while waiting on a new device. Not a big deal for me because I have a secondary vehicle. If this problem occurs, he said not to worry because there will be no hassle in getting a new tuner out to us. Unlikely but I still wanted to pass the info.

QUESTION: I have the EGR Cooler delete. Should I cap off the coolant lines or route them over where the cooler used to be. Some people do, some dont. Either way H&S says that caping them off will cause no issues.

EGR PROBE INSTALL: Does anyone have any guidance on exactly where I should tap into the manifold? I have watched some videos but that's all I know at this point.

I tapped mine in the collector of the manifold.

I had my coolant hoses just connected back and not plugged off.

Those are for the 3rd gen 5.9L engine, the 6.7L is different. I did mine on just before the turbocharger?

I'm still running the egr cooler and stock air horn intake, all intacted. I plan to run a 2nd gen exhaust manifold. A lot cleaner look under the hood. At that point you can try lots of different turbos out. H&S has a custom tune to remove the stock turbocharger, so you can run something like a S366 turbocharger

I want to take everything out in one piece, just incase I have to go back to stock.

Its gonna be real fun trying to get the drill in there?

What size crows foot do I need to remove the EGR Cooler?

I would try to reduce as much metal bits as possible from going inside the manifold and damaging the turbo. I used a vaccum cleaner, vaccumed up all the metal. Just prior to breaking thru the metal, I put some grease on the drill bit.

See a few turbo failures from tiny metal bits, so be careful.
