Tuners

I am looking to put a tuner H&S or SMARTY on my 5500 with the AISIN and do the deletes. Are you guys happy with this set up and can this trany handle a HP increase I do tow heavy occasionally!!! I have read that adding HP to this tranny could cause the shifting patterns to be all over the place in the tow haul mode.

Thanks

I've been running the smarty since Nov. No codes and haven't killed the tran yet. Doesn't seem to change the trans shifts.

What HP setting

My Smarty is for sale in the classifieds. Any of the settings at 99%, I don't use sw9 at 99% very much, most of the time 40% or less on sw9. I've used sw 3,5 and 7 some works great no codes. I've used sw7 toweing some nothing really heavy though and it didn't make the tow haul shift weird.

Why are you selling it if it works so good ???

I think Smarty only recommends SW3 with a stock tranny....play you pay. Your tranny wont last very long if you go above SW3........stock means stock. I run a Smarty POD on SW9(, but I have a tranny that is built to handle about 850 HP.

If you don't hot rod around it doesn't matter what SW# you run on. You just have to be easier on the throtle the higher the SW#. If your pulling loads keep and eye on your EGTs I did some hauling last week and if you have the power level set to high the tran won't shift down on big hills, and the egts will keep climbing. Backed the %down to 60 on SW9 and worked great.
