Over 300,000 miles in Cab and Chassis

Checked my mileage this morning and it was 300,753. The history of this truck has been pretty well documented on this site, the only thing that has happened lately was replacing the drive shaft u-joints (2) and a couple of weeks ago I had a front wheel bearing go out at 297,100 miles on the road and went ahead and replaced the other one about a week later. The truck is still running great and I wouldn't worry about going anywhere in it, it's as sound as it was when it was new, probably more so because it is good and broke in. It has spent its life pulling a 40 ft goose neck around in the oilfields. Will be doing more of the same at daylight tomorrow. I have a complete log of all repairs and and work done on the truck since new. There haven't really been that much considering the mileage and what the truck does.

There have been no power enhancements at all, it is completely deleted, and as far as the transmission goes, I'd have a hard time going back to a stick. It does everything I could ask of it. Just got back from a 650 mile run pulling the trailer with about 12 k on it. I've never had a minutes problem with the transmission.

I have a 5500 with the aisin, I like the trranny a lot. I am looking to do the deletes also and add no HP, are you using a smarty or H&S product to be code free and did you remove the egr and cooler or leave them on ??

Thanks

I'm not using anything to be code free, I have the codes written down that have come up and have a piece of black electrical tape to cover the ck engine light. I ck the codes about once a week to see if there are any new ones, there haven't been any. I have removed both the egr and cooler.

I got what I guess you call the sims from H&S. Dpf is removed although I gutted it if I want to put it on for "looks".

Did you get rid of the cooler and the egr or is it still on just unplugged it???

They are gone. I had a leaking egr cooler and the dealer said I had a blown head gasket. They replaced the head gasket and I had the same problem. Blowing the coolant out of the overflow tank. They then decided to call someone in Dodge service, (the big boys) and were told to replace the cooler. That did fix it. I didn't want to take a chance of that happening again so I removed it along with everything else. No cooler, no egr, no dpf, no problems ever again. I did that at about 150k miles, I'm over 303k now. By the way, I had to pay for the head gasket repair, but the egr cooler was replaced at no cost.

I'm using the Mopar AS68RC that the book calls for. The Amsoil product book says now that it has an oil that will work and Mobil has one that will work I've been told if it has the code JWS 3309 on it. Again, I use the Mopar oil, I've just heard the other ones work.

Thanks for the info, I would like to use Amsoil but I do not know anyone who has used it in the AISIN.

Ive heard good things about the AISIN trans. Much like the Allison's reputation for strength and durability. I just dont understand why Dodge didnt put it in ALL Cummins powered trucks.

So a leaky EGR, U-joints, and front wheel bearings are all you've done in 300k?
