I've been thinking about ordering one of the 5500's in a quad cab with the 84" cab to axle, then build a 10' flatbed for it. The first two feet behind the cab would be a 2' by (roughly) 20" high aux fuel tank. That way I'd have maximum turning clearance with my fifth wheel, and still be able to have lots of extra fuel. Parking would be a pain though.

What I'd REALLY like is a Mega Cab 4500 or 5500 with the 60" cab to axle (what the regular longbeds have)... but I don't think we'll see that until the fourth-gens are out, if at all.

Well first off thats a 3500 chassis with a 5500 cab and badges on it second while sure it might be cool to drive it around but with BFT standing for Built for Towing what would you tow?? No way you would hook to a 5th wheel with it...

Sure its cool looking and it would be nice to have a 10' bed.....

No its not, if anyone would have even taken the time to read it (which I did a few months ago)
Here is a direct quote write from the article....

Ignore the 5500 badges and flares - the BFT’s built not upon the frame of the new Ram 4500 and 5500 medium-duty chassis, but that of a Megacab-equipped Ram 3500 dually. A standard cab was procured from a 5500, which also lent its front bumper, wheel flares and emblems.

The big-rig look is further accentuated by the BFT’s stance. 3″ body and suspension lifts raise the Ram considerably, allowing room for massive 22.5″ Alcoa wheels. Lifted straight from heavy-duty semi tractors, the adapters for these wheels alone weigh a hefty 50 lbs each

It is only a 3500. Look at the stupid 8 to 10 lug adapters in the picture of the left front wheel.

My Lord, there you go again. It's like you were locked in a closet as a child and people threw over sized rims and tires at you. Never seen such a hatred for after market (yes, adapted) rims!

I picked up on some obvious errors, one being that the adapters couldn't possibly weight 50lbs a piece. Mine were closer to 17 lbs a piece. (including lugs). I highly doubt they are 2.94 times heavier.

Banks? That's the best they could come up with?

Truck looks cool, but the "Winding road" article is off a bit.

Only 17 lbs!! Honestly, that is really light. What brand did you buy from. The son of a owner of a wheel and tire shop (read: business write off) in my town just got a set of "shaved" 22's with mud grapplers and they weighed in at 40 lbs. with lug nuts

Does banks stuff really suck that bad? Everyone is always hating on them but I thought they were one of the few companys that had good intercoolers. I have banks on my truck but its just mechanical stuff. So i take it that there electronics are less than desirable.
