High Idle switch..

Both of my 07 cab and chassis models don't have cruise control. I know some of the powerstroke guys make a high idle switch from some of the existing pto wiring which is unused. I have a pto wiring harness that came with upfitters package. Is it possible to use this to allow high idle of lets say 1,000-1,200rpm? I was doing some looking around and I know the guys with cruise control have no issues (just need to activate ability to use cruise to raise idle), but alot of the c&c guys don't have cruise.

You can buy the cruise switches for 46 bucks and you will have cruise, then get the high idle enabled and your set. This is what I did on my 05

Just found a post on tdr..here it is..

Here is a brief description of how to install cruise control for your Dodge Ram ST.

1: Purchase these switches at your friendly Dodge dealer.

RIGHT HAND SWITCH #56049378AB-RETAIL $18.79
LEFT HAND SWITCH #56049379AB-RETAIL $19.91

2: In order to remove the airbag from the steering wheel, you need to turn the steering wheel 90° from center. This will let you access the two bolts on the back of the steering wheel. (I used a deep socket 10mm 1/4" drive ratchet)

3: Once the steering wheel is placed at the 90° position, shutdown the engine and remove the two negative battery cables and wait a minimum of ten minutes for the airbag module to be drained of available power.

4: Now remove the airbag by removing the two bolts at rear of the steering wheel. Have someone hold the airbag while you remove the switch blanks, this permits you to leave the airbag wiring connected.

5: The switch blanks are removed with a Phillips screwdriver, when these are removed just install the new switches and put everything back together and enjoy your cruise control equipped Ram!

This procedure is confirmed to have worked with the following model year trucks.

04.5 manual trans, and an 06 auto equipped truck, I feel that the price of the switches are worth it just to see if it will work on your truck. I'm willing to bet that it does!
