Had to do it just pulled the plugs on my DPF and put in some resistors in the pyro plugs then I went to the dealer and got the AV flash they didn't say anything and no codes till later I got a P244a? I don't know what that is yet.

I have a scan gauge so I can read a clear codes.
p244a is the pressure sensor in the DPF, there is not pressure since it's unpluged. Also just installed the straight pipe. Just a short trip since the install and no codes other than the egr unpluged P0405. I had the pipe made here and could get more made if there was enough interest.

Its a day and night difference once you take out the filter but as far as I know their are no code free kits out I've been promised by to many companys, but if i brought a new truck thats the first thing I would do. Where did get the DPF pipe made at???

I don't know about the day and night difference after the DPF removal. I got the exhaust pipe and took it to a local fab shop and they made the flange and welded it on for me. Yes I was under my truck on this cold day taking the DPF off. Since my truck is a CC it doesn't have the O2 sensors just a straight piece of pipe.

I was hopeing for 4+ mpg improvement so I hope it was choked up that much. The truck is great, this is my first auto and I really like it except sometimes when pulling a trailer it doesn't stay in a higher gear and pull it wants to downshift and revup and go no where.
I'm going to put about 300mi on it tonight then I'll know better what it's doing as far as mpg and power.

Maybe 2mpg is all I can say at this time. So why am I not seeing the 4+mpg so many people are claiming? I'm going to try and block off the egr tonight, I've had it unpluged.
If I don't clear the egr unplug code P0405 then the overhead will come on and tell me to take it to the dealer for service and the p244a code shows up. But as long as I clear P0405 before I start it no other codes show up and it runs fine either way.

When I said it was a day and night difference the guys that I have done it for (very few) always had a tuner on their truck sorry I should have stated that. Have you thought of any kind of chip/programer yet?? I would wait til it had a few miles on it before I did if it was mine anyway. What kind of mpg are you getting???

Was 12 now about 14 very little has been easy driveing. With 50 gal tank it's hard to get a complete tank of hwy or town. Most of my hwy has been at 70+. I did just plug the egr and first impression was the motor was much more responsive. With less than 4k miles on the truck I'm still hopeing the mpg will get better.
Tree DR, Did you ever put a tuner on your 5500. Did the mileage increase anymore after you unpluged the EGR. Did your exhust system have DPF and a muffler and you just removed the DPF.
Thanks
