2012 5500 c&c oil consumption
 

Hello i am looking at buying a 2012 5500. it is used and the owner states that it uses about 4 quarts of oil in between oil changes. He has changed the ccv filter, had oil analysis done with clean results (no abnormal wear) and there is no blowby. Truck has 165000 miles and has been maintained meticulously its entire life. Is there anything egr related or anything else ccv related that ciuld be causing this much oil comsumption?

I would check the turbo for oil getting pass the seal. Remove outlet from turbo and check for any oil there.

Truck has 1200 miles on new turbo, still burning oil. I would say rings but what gets me is the complete lack of blowby
