Wiper Problem? Multi Function Sw or Wiper Motor?

Shorts had a great thrread in 2012 on how to clean up and recondition the MFS. I have the 06. 5.9 litre. I had the MFS installed as a recall three months ago. I rarely use my truck in the winter in the Yukon but just a few days ago my wipers stopped working, then later in the day when the vehicle was warmed up and I restarted the truck they worked fine. This was the same thing three days in a row. The wipers would not work in the colder mornings but worked fine a couple of hours later when the vehicle was warm. Thought it might be the new MFS, so I brougt it in the dealer and everything worked fine and they are suggesting I need to replace the motor. Does not really make sense to me? Has anyone else had this problem? Suggestions? Would really appreciate the help. 2kayaks

Next time it does it press the washer fluid button on the end a couple of times. If it is the MF switch, this will kick it in gear and it will start working.

MFS or Wiper Motor

Thanks Spooler. I went through the process outlined by Shorts but did not raise the contacts as he suggested....just plain forgot. All the functions on the wipers worked at the time when I checked but the next day when it was cold outside same old thing. I had hoped to take it apart again in the next two days and raise the contacts a little to see what happens. I will try your suggestion before I do that. If your suggestion is correct I should be the MFS.

Wiper issues.
Started early this week, turned them on they slowed 1/2 way up then died at high noon, drove to work, asked the mechanic to look at it and when we hit the key fob to unlock they went down. They worked fine, he pulled the arms and the motor seems strong. Today same thing, stuck at high noon but have not gone down. I have twisted the switch multiple times, drove 30 miles, started a few times, wiggled the wire on the fire wall, pulled the fuse in the box by the battery, low & high beams, turn signals, hit the washer fluid as was suggested here, nothing.

What do you think, does this sound like a bad motor, switch, ground?

Sounds like a bad MF switch.

Decided to take to the garage. Let the truck warm up, backed 1/2 way out and the wipers went down and have worked fine all day?
