Whats my truck worth?

I am thinking about selling my truck for personal reasons. (Dont worry... it will be being replaced with a Cummins... just an older one) What do you guys think its worth?

It's a 2005 Ram 3500 dually SLT quad cab manual trans (NV5600). It has premium cloth, leather wrapped steering wheel, overhead console, 4.10 gears, off road/on road tires, tow package, door trim, and fog lights... oh, and no muffler.

It will come with a full size tool box, Westin nerf bars, and a black grille guard installed.

It has 6500 miles on it and of course its in great shape. I just bought it in November.

What do you think?

Any where from $28,000.00 to $35,000.00 all depends on who the buyer is. If one looks hard enough you can buy brand new for $32,000.00

I just traded my 99 in on an 05 for $13,000.00

Funny you ask that,
a guy here in the pacific northwest (Seattle) seems to think he can get $38,000 on his and it has 26k on it already. 28-35k does sound about right. But as mentioned before, they can be found for 32k new in Texas or the southern states. A good friend of mine got one (3500 SLT DRW) the same time I did, for the same price I paid for my 2500.

The reality is that if you didn't get a once in a lifetime deal on it, you ARE going to lose money on the deal. The biggest loss of value is in the first year. You are going to be in the low 30's. I'm in Texas, and I know people who have bought your configuration of truck NEW in the low 30's (ie 31-33K). I bought mine NEW for less than $30K but I don't have leather seats or any of the other stuff listed.

Selling right now does not make financial sense, but if you got to get rid of it, then be prepared to take a loss.

I figured no one had numbers out for 2005s yet because Edmunds doesn't.

According to KBB it's worth $37,300 private party... which is why I don't like to use KBB because I could never get close to that.

Sticker was $46,610 on it and I ended up paying about $38,000 before taxes I believe... I got a good deal but not the deal of a lifetime.

I'd like to think the NV5600 would add some value as the reports coming out for the G56 don't seem very positive. But the average buyer I suspect would not know that.

I sold my 04 600 QC SB Laramie Sport with 2" Rancho leveling kit, 9000Xs all the way around and Rancho steering stab., 305x55x20 Nitto Terra Grapplers with 20: wheels of course, Intake, exhuast and a few other goodies in to a dealer and they paid 35 of the 39 payoff on it. Of course I traded it in on the 3rd vehicle I'd bought from them so they were willing to go that extra bit on it as well as with my other trade-in. Another lot I went to only wanted to give me 27 for it with the stock tires on it or 28 with the 20's.

What gives? Well, when you're all of a sudden gonna be getting paid 500 less a month, and take on an additional 600 a month in bills and you were just barely getting by before... yea, it hurts. I actually had to trade in the truck and the bike for this.

So yea... I had to make a cut and went with about the cheapest thing out there, but I really didn't wanna get anything other then a Dodge. I could have gone with a Neon to be cheaper or even a lesser model of Stratus then I did, but I knew I was gonna be in it for awhile which is why I got the Special Edition with all the leather, system and sunroof.
