What is this called or named??
 

I haven't worked on anything (besides brakes and changing the oil) underneath a vehicle in over 20yrs. This in on my Ram and I need to change the lower bushings cause they are worn-out. What is this called. I know it's attached to the stabilizer bar. Thanks for any help.

I think they are called sway bar links.

2 - SWAY BAR BRACKET


Install the stabilizer link (1) to the vehicle (STABILIZER LINK).
Install the lower nut and Tighten to 102 N·m (75 ft. lbs.).
Install the retainers, grommets and upper nut and Tighten to 27 N·m (20 ft. lbs.).
Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

thanks for the fast reply guys!! Is the stabilizer link under any tension from the sway bar?

Some but not much really. Not like it will fling at you and send you to the ER!

Give yourself a break and spray the threaded ends down with Rost Off/PB Blaster, etc the day before. If you have access to an impact wrench, use it.[coffee]

I started around 8pm and just got done changing both around 10:40pm! The left side (the one in the pic) was the hardest. Mostly cause it was the first one and had to think of a way to stop the bottom part from turning as I was trying to loosen it. The top part, the thread was messed-up a bit from the previous person who changed it out so I had to force turn it off! Vise-grips work wonders when you only have two hands to work with. And of course it's still around 95 degrees which make it even harder to work!
